Only a small part of the airport's compound lies in the commune of Le Bourget. Its area overlaps portions of three neighboring communities: Bonneuil-en-France, Dugny, and Gonesse. Roughly a third lies in Dugny, including its main terminal and the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace (the French Air and Space Museum). Today, it is only used for general aviation.

The three primary Airlines serving Beauvais are the Irish airline Ryanair, the Hungarian airline Wizz Air and the Romanian airline Blue Air. The Airport was initially built during the 1930s as a small local airfield serving the city of Beauvais, a community in the Oise department (60), province of Picardy.
Orly Airport (ORY) is located halfway between the towns of Orly and Rungis on the south to the department of Val-de-Marne (94). Formerly known as Villeneuve-Orly Airport, the facility was opened in 1932 to serve as an alternative airport to Le Bourget. It has two terminals, Orly-Sud and Orly-Ouest, both of which are smaller and easier to navigate than their counterparts at CDG. Orly has good transportation into the city, and it's especially convenient if you're staying on the Left Bank.
