This is the oldest terminal which was opened in 1974. It was constructed with a modern design which is upheld even today. Terminals Internal designs and structural concepts have been modernized. It contains of a single main building for check-in and baggage claim, with 7 satellites for arrivals and departures. Each satellite can handle about 5 aircraft at any given time. Underground pathways with moving sidewalks link the satellites to the central building.
Terminal 2 was initially built wholly for Air France flights, but has since been extended considerably and now also hosts many other airlines. It comprises of many halls which are linked together by ground-level or below-ground walkways. The seven halls are named 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F and the separate 2G. This was opened in March 2009 for Schengen Area flights.
Terminal 3 is called T9 – hosts charter and low-cost airlines. Consisting of a single hall, it is situated 1 km/0.62 mi. from Terminal 1. The RER and CDG-VAL trains are at a distance of 300 m/980 ft. on foot.
When you approach the baggage claim areas, be sure to take advantage of the free luggage carts which are usually parked next to the baggage rides or conveyor belts. They will save you great effort in routing to the exits and beyond!
